Matt Folsom

MattFolsomMatt has 17 years of public safety experience. He has worked in many different environments in that time, including public, private, not for profit and volunteer organizations.  Along that journey, he has spearheaded such projects as a new regional communications center and a major radio systems improvement for St. Joseph Regional EMS; and various implementations of EMS technology for Montgomery County Hospital District (MCHD) including electronic PCRs, mobile data computers, and in-vehicle mapping. More recently, Matt has spoken at national conferences on not only technology but how to glean information from data. Matt uses GIS (Geographic Information Systems) and Six Sigma principles to produce a higher order of intelligence from existing systems, often giving new perspective to established organizations.  He has consulted on projects such as ISO ratings of fire departments and resource deployment for EMS agencies, disaster preparedness for public safety IT, and GIS technology implementation.

Matt attended Sam Houston State University and the paramedic program at Blinn College. His education included EMS Instructor certification and three years as adjunct faculty at Blinn College.  He is a Licensed Paramedic in the State of Texas, credentialed as a Field Supervisor for the Montgomery County Hospital District EMS System and is Six Sigma certified. He still enjoys providing front-line EMS care on a regular basis.
