Six Sigma EMS Black Belt Program
Six Sigma Black Belts can play an important role in your organization’s Six Sigma implementation strategy. As Black Belts, individuals can serve as team members, subject matter experts, analytic experts and leaders in the problem solving process. Building on their prior Green Belt knowledge Black Belts learn how to use advanced analytics methods that will bring added value to the Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve and Control (DMAIC) process. In addition Black Belt participants will be introduced to new facilitation and team tools that can improve their ability to facilitate group problem solving.
The Black Belt training program uses a blended learning strategy of live workshops, online learning, and experiential learning with completion of a process improvement project. Specifically, participants will be engaged in:
- 5 full day sessions (in two separate meetings, each lasting 2 1/2 days)
- Online modules that include:
- A review of the DMAIC process
- A review of common graphical tools
- Additional Hands-on practice in using graphical tools
- Practice using advanced statistical tools
- An review of tools that aid meeting and team facilitation
- An introduction to Design for Six Sigma (DFSS)
- Completion of test on course content to achieve Certificate of Completion of Training
- Completion and sign-off of Black Belt Project to obtain Black Belt Certification
During your Belt Belt training, you will learn to:
- How to formalize problems for problem solving
- Appreciate the concept of process
- Make data based decisions
- Analyze data using graphical tools
- Maintain the gains following process improvement
- Create basic graphical analysis
- Conduct advanced statistical tools
- Utilize basic facilitation tools
- Appreciate the DFSS process

Completion of didactic sessions (live sessions and all on-line sessions) will typically take 4 months. The time needed to complete the process improvement project is up to the schedule and pace of the participant. |
