Part 2 - Inclusion and Exclusion Criteria; Performance Equations
When buliding performance indicators, the cases that are included and excluded from the calculations need to be explicitly determined in a methodical way to yield valid results. There are two 'flavors' of performance indicators to think about as well - ones that measure how well process customer needs are being met (quality) and ones that measure how efficiently (cost) they are being met. That can be taken even a step further for deeper insights by looking at the combine effects of quality and cost to calculate value.
